in the moment is the debut solo album of electronic music by Monica Panzarino.  It was recorded while Panzarino was an upperclasswoman at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.  Each track on in the moment is improvised and recorded live, with no post-production mixing, editing, or effects. The album utilizes a unique combination of sonic elements and real-time processing methods, including but not limited to: toy instruments, an analog synthesizer, a vintage organ, Alesis MidiVerb Effects ProcessorsReaktor software, and Harmonizer software for a Commodore Amiga 1000in the moment is inspired by a concept created by Panzarino and her artistic collaborator, Laura Payeur, called “demo liberation.”  Demo liberation (also known as the “Demo Liberation Front”) “liberates” pre-programmed demo sounds or songs found in toy instruments, computer software, and other sources.
